Honjo Campus is a hub of the Honjo International Research Park dedicated to promoting a natural collaboration among industry, government and academia, with the aim of developing human resources, basic research, technology development, and commercialization in a consistent form.
With the rapid development of information and telecommunications services
in recent years, interaction and globalization have proceeded in fields
ranging from politics, economics to social activities. Consequently, to
expand and develop into the future, the development of human resources
such as information and telecommunication specialists, multimedia contents
creators utilizing information and telecommunication technology, and professionals
with competency is urgently required.
Taking the above into consideration, the Graduate School of Global Information
and Telecommunication Studies, Waseda University, has the aim of developing
and producing outstanding graduates and researchers, and has created up-to-date
research facilities which can satisfy highly advanced social requirements,
and research environment in Honjo Campus. This facilitates and makes possible
close collaboration with education and research institutes in Japan and
from around the world, and the development of education and research activities
that comply with the global standards.

In addition to the reverberation chamber in the acoustics with a volume of 1560m3, this world-class laboratory has chambers mainly for acoustic, thermal and aerial fields of research.
ITU-Waseda ICT Center
ITU and Waseda University have established a research center to support
work in the area of Standardization, Human Resource Development, Mobile
and Radiocommunication. This joint Center is in fulfillment of MOU that
was signed between ITU and Waseda University in 2001. The Center is an
important contribution by Japan to the activities of ITU, as the 1st university
in the world to implement interactive research collaboration.
