Some Personal Info.
For the past 32 years, I had been involved in the studies of telecom networks and their implementation at NTT's Laboratories and their headquarters, respectively. For the past 20 years, I have been serving first as Vice Chairman, then as Chairman, of a Study Group on telecom network standardization at the ITU (International Telecommunication Union) in Geneva, Switzerland. From these experiences, I have become extremely interested in the relationship between telecom networks and society, economics and businesses, especially in how they influence each other. At the moment, I am doing research regarding the above relationships at the University of Edinburgh in UK as a Visiting Professor.

My spiritual base is the Christian faith I received through my bible study group activities in my University days in Japan. In pursuing my studies and activities, I have always tried never to forget justice, fairness, and love, and I would like to continue to do so.

Research Interests
I am studying the following topics with the objective of establishing Social and Business Theories on Global Info-Communication Industries:
1) International standardization
2) Regional comparisons of global info-communication industries
- Regional sharing of various fields of info-communication industries
- Info-communication industries and regional development
