GITI (Global Information and Telecommunication Institute), founded in June 1998, has invited leading researchers active in the field of international standardization of information and telecommunication technologies. Ever since, we have collaborations and variety of activities with the world's leading universities and research institutes to improve our country’s international standardization. Furthermore, with the research project of advanced video contents production and distribution using broadband network officially launched in 2004 and with the cooperation of Japan’s recognized movie directors, we are continuously creating and distributing leading digital cinema contents.
As an academic institute to support the activities of young researchers in GITI, graduate school of Global Information and Telecommunication Studies (GITS) was established in April 2000. [Research] and [Education] in graduate school are two important missions that can be compared to the two wheels of a cart. Our basic strategy is to combine GITI(promote leading researches together with various industries) and GITS (develop human resources) in order to grow and maintain research and development capabilities in the field of information and telecommunication as well as develop superior young researchers in this field.
Target
GITI places priority in two points as listed below, and are collaborating with not only domestic universities but also international universities and industries to promote such research activities.
Mission
GITI together with GITS aim to conduct cutting edge researches collaborating with international academic societies and industries, and develop young researchers in following items.
Through these researches, GITI and GITS aim to help realize an affluent and advanced information telecommunications society.
